Yes. I got off reddit a while ago due to privacy and censorship issues on top of pushing/promoting content that annoyed me or I didn’t have any interest in. Been on the fediverse for a while and enjoyed that and was happy to hear there’s a federated reddit alternative.
But Lemmy isn’t activitypub? Unless threads opens up to lemmys protocol it wouldn’t be able to see anything anyway… Right?
You shouldn’t automatically trust open source code just because its open source. There have been cases where something on github contains actual malicious code, but those are typically not very well known or don’t have very many eyes on it. But in general open source code has the potential to be more trustworthy especially if its very popular and has a lot of eyes on it.
Wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole.
I get left alone for the most part. Not many people.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Governments are scary. Only organization that has a monopoly on force and will never face consequences.
Tidal is the worst for me. Made 1000+ attempts in less than an hour.
The problem is government not capitalism
Its great! I was on pleroma before and didn’t even know Lemmy was a thing u til recently. Love federated social media.
Even if he is not the same person off camera, he’s still helping a lot of people in his videos. Sure it might be to “make money” but he turns around and uses a large portion of that money to do more good things on camera in other videos. He does far more for others than the vast majority of people in this world.
There will always be a fork of AOSP even if google ditches it the community will keep it up.
