Dual boot is the way for right now. Proton is huge, but there are still a good number of games with compatibility issues or rootkit anticheats. Personally I advise steering clear of the latter, but that’s neither here nor there.

I use CachyOS as my daily driver and booted up the Windows partition maybe 3 times since setting this up back in February (and most of those times were just to play REPO because Elgato hardware with dual input and output has serious issues with Linux, but I’ve sorted that out now with a workaround)

Though their worst offenders are definitely the mid-2010’s tbf, except for Lost Judgment’s weird multi-input QTEs. Dead Souls in particular speeds them up so fast on higher difficulties that it’s basically impossible to hit them consistently unless you use the PS3 menu to buffer them

I’ve been using Magic Earth for navigation, it’s not FOSS but still has a lot of strong vouches in these sorts of communities, I believe their privacy policy has been thoroughly vetted if I recall. Works great and does what it needs to do.

For Gmail, I highly recommend Tuta, fantastic service. Paid plans are very affordable. The only thing I wish their client had was more in-depth rule customization but I may just be stupid. Admittedly setting up email forwarding from my gmail accounts has made me a bit lazy in fully switching over every single account from gmail to a tuta address, but I’m getting there.
