Loads of things especially if its colourful, textured, shiny etc
But, mostly bugs, plants, wood, rocks, patterns, wool (that really nice multi dyed stuff), art materials and paint
The list is endless…
Can you post a photo of your rock? So we can see how cool it is? 🦖
You had me at the ‘what is the best smelling glue’ post

I drove past Penistone the other day, I giggled and pointed out the sign to my bf
I do it every time we pass by…it never gets old
This is something I need to work on, and its more apparent to me after having a conversation with my mother recently.
She said something quite unpleasant to my bf, and when I said how hurtful it was to both of us I was met with her denial, her refusal to see how hurtful it was and it was my fault for being upset, and also that I should just move on and forget about it
If she’d said that it came out wrong, or was sorry to have said something that had landed in a hurtful way etc that’s all I/we would have needed
Unfortunately i can see this attitude in myself, in the fact I find it near impossible to apologise for anything
I think my mother has a lot of her own issues around this, and I have my own ‘version’ because of my issues (my autism, and the fact that she’s my mum)
So I’m now going to do my best to rethink my behaviour and do some self reflection…
I really don’t want to be like my mother at all
I love the fact that you have a 3d printed dachshund trophy for your wife’s trophy wall
So sorry this has been used against you in such a horrible way
I have a naturally resting bitch face, and the tone of my voice can sound pissed off even when I’m not. It really boils my piss having to justify myself when all I’m doing is happily being somewhere in my own head minding my own business

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was your most profound psychedelic experience?
2·2 months agoWhat a beautiful experience, you’ve put in words a similar experience I had, but so much better. It triggered a very happy memory and a big smile 🥰

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was your most profound psychedelic experience?
4·2 months agoI’ve had a few quite profound experiences, one where I saw all the patterns in the universe, a peak behind the curtain of the maths that creates all natural phenomena. And another where I dissolved and became the northern lights
I also became the mushrooms once, I was in the ground amongst the soil particles existing as the mycelium threads, then decided to grow upwards as the fruiting bodies of the mushrooms above ground
I’ve had some amazing experiences of being other things in nature
Its not just the crying for me, its those random shrieks of delight that also get me, especially in supermarkets with all that noise and light reflecting surfaces
There are many reasons I never had children, but the crying would have been a special kind of torture
That’s really cool, like a guardian watching your back!
I love the ear also, I don’t like jewellery so as an alternative to earings it’s a good idea
Wow, that is beautiful! Did you come up with the design concept yourself?
Your tattoo artist is mega talented!

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Masturbation among birds is ‘natural’ and should not be punished, say expertsEnglish
19·3 months agoI used to have budgies, one of the males used to chat up his (male) friend whilst perched on my head… and then he’d start grinding away while still on my head
Fortunately he never left a deposit
Freaky little (head) fucker

Autism@lemmy.world•How old were you when you realised you were neurodiverse?
2·3 months ago47 when I met a woman with autism, then researched the shit out of it (naturally) got tested, and Behold! Autism
I think I also have ADHD mixed in with it too
It explains a lot!

7·3 months agoSeconding this, sometimes you just have to sit down and draw/make even if the end result looks like shit, and even then you can rip it up, use it for collage, over paint it and make it into something else
Maybe go on a tangent? Explore colour theory? A different medium? Look at other people’s work for inspiration?
Even a crappy doodle can be the start of something new and interesting 👍
I think old people are just not equipped to survive on the internet
I think its people in general
During lock down when people were at home and having to amuse themselves some made bread and did arts and crafts, whilst others ended up jumping off a cliff into conspiracy theories and right wing bollocks
One guy I know of suggested ivermectin and dog dewormers to treat my bf’s cancer because ‘cancer is caused by parasites… there’s plenty of information on the internet… you can do your own research…etc etc’
I used to think the average person was mostly decent and sensible, but not anymore
