    Baidu forums is like 4chan and twitter had a baby

    Not to mention the nature of internet (self explanatory);

    and the nature of the population size (even if you have 99 good people for 1 hateful nazi in China making it infinitely better than the west, it still means China is a country with tens of millions of nazis running around);

    and the nature of a socialist country that had to go through the propaganda and oppression of the post-cold war era (when you have been under decades of anti-third world pro-west propaganda, it’s hard not to push back in the other direction. Some of these people have been brainwashed and believed all their life that Chinese people are sinners who deserved genocide for wasting energy and pollution because of their inferior way of life, now they learn all long the average person in the west west waste and pollutes tens times more, what is the logical conclusion?);

    I would say it’s fairly understandable and there’s no point letting it get to you. If I can think of a good comeback in 10 seconds I will type something, otherwise I just move on.

    Keep in mind a lot of those are just anti American liberal interventionism Goes for a lot of the issues you mentioned, but for example a lot of the “pro-feminism” voices on social media are literally funded by American NGOs for regime change. They could care less about women and equality, in fact they love to see them all Chinese women die horribly if they bring down the communist government with them, and another war criminal in the US will tell Americans that it was worth it.

    If you lurk more you will see how ridiculous the social media “feminists” often are, how they fall completely silent if not sabotage feminist matters that would put communist China in a good light, how the same groups again and again aligns with American imperialist positions when it has nothing to do with feminism (for example, being rabidly pro-Ukraine, advocating that covid is just a harmless flu).

    Of course when such people parade around social media with a feminist banner, you will see people respond by stomping it to the ground with boos and widespread opposition. Nothing wrong with being “anti-feminist” when the “feminist” in question has little to do with things like women’s equality and more about sowing discord, and thus the loud opposition to it says little about people being against women’s equality and more about against sowing discord.

    In their minds the US is such a comically overexaggerated evil that even the most horrible actions taken by opposing governments are justified.

    Sure. The infantile “le evil dictators starve people because he doesn’t know how farming works” and “everybody in these places are targets to be disappeared into thin air by the all-knowing-ever-watching scary monster” and “evil boogieman got a temper in the morning and proceeds to slaughter random people!!” are accusing others of comically overexaggerated evil… Exaggeration defined by citing declassified/always publicly available US government report #1234 and referring to documented historical facts from sources and experiences all over the world #5678.

    It’s kind of fun seeing these “IQ below room temperature (in Celsius)” clowns overdosing in projection at this point. Shows they are still aware of reality, even vaguely, and all these are just desperate copes. Watching the imperialist leeches get their deserved trainwreck is like having delicious steak, even better when they kindly provide the sauce on top of it.
