I think they had around 25k people signing up to be notified when the sync for lemmy app releases, so at least some of them are there :)

I didn’t think it would make much of a difference before I tried it, but it’s so nice to use, I really enjoy it :)
I think that’s a user influx problem, we’ve had it multiple times over at mastodon as well, usually it dies down again after a couple of weeks, and we can just concentrate on other things instead, at least until a new wave of users arrive :)
Yeah, I don’t think lemmy is ready for very casual users like that yet at least, I’ve been here for 3 years on different accounts, and the difference in the last month or so has been staggering :)
I’ve been on mastodon for 4 or so years ago, it takes a bit of time to build up people that you like to follow, which is really important on mastodon, since they are your algorithm, I find new people from the boosts of people that I know and trust, find new interesting people, and my feed is so full that there is always something going on, and I don’t really have a chance to read it all.
I’m also not really into “high-profile” people, so I guess that helps as well.
I think it has something to do with them not long ago having been slapped with huge punishment for some other shit they have been doing in the EU
Technically I’ve been on lemmy for 3 years, but that’s with my old lemmy.ml account, this one is new and fresh :p
You forgot one E, Enshittify ;)
Thunder or liftoff have been the most similar ones from the ones I have tested as well.
Really? I don’t know, I just went to a page and wrote in my data, just like registering on any other page.
I quit, I stayed on for the protests because it felt nice to work together on it, and then when the sub I was moderating decided they didn’t want to take part in the protest anymore I deleted all my posts and my account.
Most notable is that there are way more people discussing, there are tons of more content, more instances, so basically just more, there are still things that are missing like really niche stuff that I really used to enjoy over on reddit, like r/shorthand, and r/sudoku and so on, but we’ll have to se :) Maybe we will grow to a size where that is possible.
