I think sometimes when I try to point out that political violence underpins much of society people hear “violence is good actually”.

It’s frustrating because what I’m trying to point out is actually the opposite. Prostrating yourself lets other people use violence with no checks.

They certainly made the GOP start caring about gun control if nothing else… They were also damn good with message discipline, and (unless I’m mistaken), did some great mutual aid.

Politics is nothing but coordinated violence, in that it is nothing but coercion of people against their own interests. If you’re an interested party, than youre adding to the coercion of others. If you stay out of it, then it’s not political to you is it?

    Politics:violence

    Politics:economics

    Economics:violence

Try telling people whose rent has doubled or tripled within a decade that economics isn’t violence. You’ll experience some carnal violence in return, I’m sure.

Politics = violence; it’s the NC-17 version, violence all grown up and sophisticated. Sanitized for TV, in it for the sound bites. In fact, I’d say at least half of it is theatre alone. It’s even been packaged up for the people to play along from home. The evolution of violence, fun for the whole family. I mean, what else would we talk about come holidays? HELPING each other?!?

I just think people don’t like it when their side’s politicians and advocates are getting murdered.

At this point monopoly of violence by the state would be an improvement

Also sounds like America’s favorite hobby is back: shooting presidents.

Was there any previous attempts of murder without shooting? And if anyone has statistics of assassinations in other countries by guns vs something else I’d be curious to see. Except Fidel, that’s going to take too long and skew the numbers 🤣🤣🤣

I don’t think the new assassination fad is especially productive, but a complete state monopoly on violence would definitely not be an improvement. Trump can take a few bullets, it doesn’t matter.

I was more referring to what happens when someone gets doxxed or school violence or civilians hating immigrants.

I believe the idea is that the person saying that is clearly a hypocrite who has no grounds for their decrying of violence when they support so much of it, and possibly that retaliatory violence in self-defense is therefore justified.
