There are some in books, like “The Infinite and the Divine” but sadly they are bestowed the curse of all books put in the gaming settings: “no changing the setting” so even if you read the above quite fun story about 10000 year spanning rivalry and gigantic and important quest, just from the world-changing plans you already know from the start that they will fail.
Tyranids just happen to be there, largely unrelated to the 2 cm deep plot.
To be fair, up to the point i played and got bored the plot is nonexistent but the tyranid layer is constantly around 1,5 meter deep everywhere.
I yearn for one day actually interesting 40k plots, which are probably not forthcoming
