Musk, the billionaire owner of X, formerly Twitter, and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, joined Trump onstage in Butler on Saturday to show his support for the Republican and state that he is “not just MAGA — I am Dark MAGA.”
A number of people have mocked Musk’s appearance at the Butler rally on Saturday on social media, as well as criticizing his public speaking efforts.
I mean, as much as it’s cringe it was cringe when Biden did “Dark Brandon”. I imagine this is a response to that not “we’re the villains” (even though they are)
Dark Brandon was created as an evil representation of Biden that did evil things, like helping people. His supporters found this funny, because if this person where actually real they’d like him a lot more, so they spread memes of “Dark Brandon” supporting policies they liked. The Biden team saw this and started using it too, as a way to share actual good policies they were doing. Basically, it was an insult turned into a weapon.
Musk doing this is skipping all that context and essentially just saying they’re the supposedly bad thing. Without actually saying why it’s good, it just sounds like you’re doing the bad thing —which they absolutely are, but shouldn’t want to own. He’s an internet edgelord who never understood internet culture and purchased a social media site. It’s sad.
Biden was not the originator of the DB memes
And yet the Biden teams plastered it all over the his social media
What you’re doing right now is called moving the goalposts
Okay
I didn’t set any goalposts. I’m not arguing with you. Just pointing out that they weren’t “admitting to being evil” as the poster of this thread said, simply Elon trying to copy the dark Brandon thing because it got popular for Biden.
For the audience who get their political information from fucking Twitter, that’s just fine.
Naw, Dark Brandon was kinda based
