“Free” is one of the most misused words in the English language. It’s genuinely painful. And I don’t mean “it’s cutely misused like ‘literally’ and I’m being pedantic about it”, I mean it is purposefully and systemically misused on a massive scale of gaslighting.

Oui, they pulled a bourgeois democracy with parliamentarian characteristics and nothing changed. Just the usual ‘‘powers keeping other powers in check’’ bullshit to preserve the continuity of capital. (I don’t remember the specifics 😅 )

France is so confusing because I thought the new guy was supposed to become leader. So called democracy I guess.

A surprising number of those present are unelected. What was this about liberal democracy being the pinnacle of human achievement?

This likes the one of those awkward corporate shots the bosses (here being Starmer and Macron) intentionally do in order to fuck everyone else, with Zelensky being a 1st week Temp worker.

Don’t know how this area of Lemmy came to me. But from the UK, I don’t think Starmer is disliked. He inherited over a decade of conservatives hiding the deficit and is trying to fix it despite the costs and anger. Also standing up for his values is pretty cool. I voted for him and undecided, he has a few years to figure it out.

      Not hated though.
