When everybody is running around speaking semi-anonymously, you get what we’ve got - and I submit: this is not an improvement over how things used to be before everybody got on mostly-anonymous message boards and spend a lot of time writing and reading.
Anonymous speech has its place, and yes it should always be 100% protected and available to anyone who wants it. It should not be the default or even primary mode of communication. (He says, mostly-anonymously because: that’s how things are done here and why would I go out and dox myself when nobody else is doing that?)
