    Is it surprising though? Natural fruit doesn’t have the same shelf life as modern farmed fruit, so it’ll start fermenting in just a few days - add in alcohol having a lot of calories, and so the chimpanzees naturally won’t skip out on it either.

    Honestly better than modern society.

    I think I’d rather live for 20-30 fulfilling years than 50-70 of mostly slavery where I exchange 5/7ths of life overworking myself.

    Not only chimpances, there are also other animals which like to get drunk with fermented fruits, or high with certain toxines, like Lemures with toxic centipedes, giving a doble use with the toxine, using in their fur to protect against parasites, but after this also to lick it to get high.
