When first joining Lemmygrad I chose “Commie Beetle” because, well, I like beetles. Then I changed it to “Escarabajo Comunista” which is basically the same but in spanish. Now it’s Nocheztli, which is the nahuatl name of an insect used by indigenous people in Mexico to make red dye.

I think it was a New Yorker or Wall Street Journal article or something where they were humanizing Buttigieg. I wish I remembered more about it, I think it was either right after Biden won and he got a position in the cabinet or it was when Buttigieg was running for pres, but basically the reporter described the layout of his office and was like “he’s normal and not extravagant, he wears his hair in the style of Mike Pence, he reads newspapers, he keeps in touch with constituents, he has a map of Afghanistan’s minerals and resources above his desk, he has a framed picture of his husband, y’know, TOTALLY A NORMAL GUY” and I died laughing, I think they mentioned it a few times on Chapo or something and decided to name my reddit username after it and then I joined lemmygrad on the same name

My username is a mix between ironic pun and wordplay.
