Has history ever seen a state (or states in the case of the EU) so hell-bent on committing suicide? They’re racing towards becoming an economic backwater at this rate. Bonus points for demilitarizing itself as well by funneling all their materiel into Ukraine sans their nukes. Even if parties opposed to this absolutely mad course of total vassalization to the US take power in the EU, Russian gas is not coming back. Not for decades at the very least.

Europe is increasingly turning into one big open air museum. Forever stuck reminiscing on their past grandeur with nothing but a bunch of old shit that tourists come to gawk at and treat like a continent-sized Disneyland, and the sad part is a lot of Europeans want it that way and are proud of this.

You encounter this archetype all the time when you travel: Europeans who are more knowledgeable about and interested in talking about the glorious medieval past of their city or region than they are in what is actually happening in the world today.

And when they do talk about current politics it’s to jerk off about how much better and more civilized Europe is. They especially love comparing themselves favorably to the US for the social democratic crumbs that Europeans still get and they love going on and on about how much more educated and cultured they are compared to Americans.
