    Seeing people who treated the protestors as this totally separate movement from the reactionary backbone the US summons in places like Yugoslavia, Libya, now Ukraine, etc, continue to provide coverage people eat up makes as uneasy as the oddly silent folks I pointed out. Thinking of Breakthrough News here sadly, used to like their stuff before I dug up the Syria posting.

    I often see people being flippant about throwing these people their clicks and reposts, but that’s how people like Max Blumenthal get access to areas of Syria most journalists would never be allowed. Meeting high-level personnel. Countries with less-developed media apparatuses (if any) are particularly open to being exploited by the alt media.
