I always read the book, the book was good. But it’s 19 years since I left highschool and I still don’t understand the rules about essays… Write about the thing but also don’t write about the thing.

My highest mark for an essay was 4/10 My highest mark for fictional story writing is 19/20.

Please don’t reply to me telling me how to write essays, it’s nonsense and every person who thinks it’s important are fucking insane…

No seriously if you reply to me to tell me how to write an essay in going to ignore you… Essay writing is for people who don’t have any personality except hating the world.

Ahaha well the down arrows tell me that my drunken rant about Australian highschools ideas of essays two decades after I failed my last essay means I’m either completely lost or the Australian education on essays back in 2003-2006 was different to modern essays.

I’ll take the downvotes with the knowledge that I’m still right and the idea is writing a multi-paragraph essay about a metaphorical subject and using different stories to back up my claim while also not actually talking about those stories… That is how I recall the teachings in my highschool.

Take from the above what you want.

      1. What you think an essay is, was clearly misinformed by some overzealous rubric of the time that has nothing to do with what an essay is, but more the sort they expected.

It’s ok to not give a damn to correct that, it’s your life.

      1. My highest mark for an essay was 4/10 My highest mark for fictional story writing is 19/20.

I went to bed last night watching a 3hr video essay about an analog horror story about parallel universes colliding with reality in a dark forest scenario.

That is to say, an essay was then translated to a video medium as a vehicle to deconstruct a long form fictional writing project in another medium, in a manner that was itself fictional story writing.

In conclusion, you literally have no idea what an essay is, why the fuck would anyone jump to tell you how to write them first?
