The missing N in PUTTING is intentional because this was a Triple Toss-Up, not a normal Wheel round. In Toss-Ups, the board reveals individual squares one at a time at random. It does not reveal every instance of the same letter together. So the Ns in ON and PANTS happened to appear before the N in PUTTING.
