There is this weird trend since a few years ago where generic meme subs like this and interestingasfuck and what not frequent the front page very often and a handful of times sneak in some hamfisted pro-US or anticommunist propaganda. Just like the rest of reddit these days it feels very inorganic.
It’s especially jarring when the post has like hundreds or even thousands of upvotes and tons of engagement, and then you check the subreddit and the average post there gets like 50 upvotes and a couple comments. I’m 100% certain some Imperial 3 letter agency has a legal bot farm just sitting around.
