Dynamo hubs, belt drive, internal gears… I will get a bike with all these beautiful stuff, but it will be really expensive!

Right now I have a traditional city bike with a basic derailleur by shimano and chain. It works, but I have to do regular maintenance and regulations. And I already bent the derailleur a couple of times, it happens so easily!

What stuff and upgrades you would like on your commuter bikes?

I had my brake cables updated to hydraulics last year. Quite nice, actually. It more evenly wears my brake pads, for some reason, and stopping power feels stronger.

Yeah, hydraulic discs are a game changer, especially coming from rim brakes. You can pretty much ignore adjusting them between changing the pads, and they have so much stopping power.

Only drawbacks I know of are you shouldn’t really store your bike upside down, the fluid can leak and air will get into your calipers making breaking mushy. And I guess roadside repairs could be tougher
