    They’ve got translucent strips so you can see the fluid level. I would estimate they have about 4 gallons in each, but slosh adds a lot of uncertainty.

    People from all over bought up cans to fill with gas and send to western NC. The heavily effected areas were entirely impassable to large fuel trucks and can’t run gas pumps without power anyway. New cans work just as well as old cans so I’m not sure what point you are trying to make.

      The point was that I was hoping they were empty, since carrying two cans full of gas while smoking a cigarette is pretty damn stupid, so I am hoping they are empty.

      Didn’t want to judge a photo and say that lady is stupid when I couldn’t be sure so I was giving the benefit of the doubt

        I see. I initially thought you were suggesting it was a staged photo with empty jerry cans.

        Smoking around gas cans is definitely not a good idea, but new cans are pretty good at not even leaking vapor even when tipped over.
