Donald Trump’s closest aides say that the fact he’s obsessing over pet projects while his approval ratings plummet shows he’s in total denial about the bonfire he’s made of his second presidency.

Trump, 80, dropped to 32 percent approval in a Quinnipiac survey released last week. That’s the lowest figure of his political career—lower, even, than his numbers in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol Building. Sixty-eight percent of voters now say he’s not paying enough attention to the issues weighing on most households.

It’s that consistent 30ish percent again. They’re not just morons, they’re extremely dangerous in both their dogged conformity to the fascist norm and their own personal spite. If the “Throw every Democrat voter in a dog cage and throw the cages in a lake” Act got unveiled, that 30 percent would be polling positively for it.

      They’re human cattle.

No, they’re authoritarians. They’re the exact personality type that will step up to fight for others when told to do so. They will also fight against others when told to do so. They’re the kind of person who will go out of their way to pick up litter because littering is bad. They’re the kind of person that will follow orders. They will support established institutions against threats.

Point is, authoritarian personality is not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just easily weaponized by Social Dominators. And they make up approximately 30% of any given population. You will never get rid of them.

The reason they turn against democrats now is that there have been several institutions in the media and religious spheres that have slowly turned them against democrats. That took decades. That can be undone.

The president even admitted in a Wednesday interview that Republicans are very likely facing a bloodbath come November’s midterms—even if his response to that prospect, and the issue Democratic control of either chamber could create for his agenda, has amounted to little more than a shrug.

“They’re angry at Republicans,” he told Punchbowl News. “They’re not angry at me.”

It could be worse. He could be paying attention to those issues. Every decision he makes is the worst possible decision for the people, and only serves his rich mates, or himself.

Republicans: Yes, oooh, we know this one. Is it, manipulate him to doing what you want while publicly refusing to question him so you remain in his favor?

They are waiting until the point where Vance can serve 2 full terms. Right now I believe he would still be only eligable for 1.

Once that date passes I think they might make a move. Force Trump out, give him a pardon or let him “escape” to Russia. Then its just them declaring some national emergency and oopsy doopsy no election in 28. Only issue is Vance has the charisma of warmed over shit. If they can get anyone with half the juice Trump has its gonna get worse somehow.

IMO aside from being a black hole of charm, I don’t think Vance could keep up the pace of fuckery Trump has. Hard to focus on Trump shooting someone in Times Square yesterday when he’s bombing Greenland today and tariffing the moon tomorrow all while posting 35 tweets a day with random capitalized words calling sesame street communist and depicting himself as elvis via AI. Vance lacks that juice.

For some reason, the use of bonfire in that text really bugs me. Bonfires are great. People gather around bonfires and generally have a great time.
