Recent games: 2016…
Beating an orc captain that’s immune to stealth, moves fast and fears you is one of the biggest challenges of the game
It must be like being an unfrozen caveman gamer to try playing PC games on Linux after all that time… A lot has changed since then.
Anything i should look out for? I mostly just figured avoid anything online fps for a bit. I used to like variety of genres.
Series I remember playing:
Age of Empires/mythology Dragon Age Elder Scrolls Ace Combat Grand Turismo Assassins Creed Jedi Outcast / Jedi Academy (Outcast gameplay shit on KOTORS) KOTOR (Storyline shit on Academy’s) The Sims Resistance fall of Man GTA (I’m sure ive forgotten everything from Dreamcast but that’s to far back) Tenchu gets honorable mention though from before the Dreamcast
last 5 years:
It takes Two A Way Out Minecraft Hogwarts Legacy ARK
Games are in no particular order and I’m sure I’ve skipped a bunch. Likely remembered more big games than small ones. But I’ve played PC / Super Nintendo/Dreamcast/ PS2 / PS3 / PS5 /GB color / a few Xbox throw ins. Tbh I’m not sure I’ve played a single game for PS5 that I couldn’t have played on an earlier console, but I skipped all of the 4th generation? so it seemed uncostworthy to buy a PS4 vs a PS5 in late 2023.
Anything you recommend? Haha
Welcome back and enjoy your stay
Oohh thisgiuys skyrim!!
Wait, didn’t all oldrim owners get Special Edition for free when it got released? How come do you not have it?
Only if you had all of the DLC, and I believe you still had to go and claim it before it expired or something to that effect
Shadow of Mordor is a terrific game.
The only downside is that they managed to patent the nemesis system. Other games could make good use of it
but also fuck patenting game mechanics
I remember it being a good outlet. A massacre describes most of the situations
Shadow of War is even better if you haven’t checked it out, at least in my opinion. They scaled up the nemesis system and made combat a lot more flowy and fun
Doesn’t seem that hard to do with only two games in your Steam account, lol.
Yeah, only other game listed was Skyrim, gotta expand it I guess haha
My gaming PC broke the day I moved into my university dorm, and I didn’t get another one until like 4 years later.
The weirdest part was I kept thinking 3-year-old games were “new.”
My friend would talk about a game and I’d be like “wow yeah that’s the new one right?” and they’d say “it’s two years old now there’s a sequel”
…so yeah, thats one of the new ones, right?
Did you play on Nintendo or PlayStation or Xbox or something?
A bit of Xbox and PlayStation, but really not much. Played ARK Survivor for a bit, and I know I played through “A Way Out”
Couch co-ops mostly. Maybe 50 hours playtime since 2016 I’m guessing haha
Edit: Nevermind, we would play Wheel of fortune when shit faced on PlayStation, so maybe another 50 hours there
Get on the free prime and epic games ;)
Just think…in January of 2016 the idea of trump ever being president was an unfunny, but still described as laughable joke. Pretty sure in January there were like 37 different republicans running. Somehow out of all that, they went with trump of all people.
In January of 2016, it had been over a century since the chicago cubs ever won the world series…and it should have STAYED that way…
Well the years start coming and they don’t stop coming. Head to the ground you can hear your heart running!
…and now the lead singer of smash mouth is dead.
It says I last played in October 2016… so yeah that was right before he got elected. Fuck time has passed.
I feel this. I found time during the start of the winter sale to buy Vampire survivors and their expansions and found I hadn’t touch some games since about 2018.
Were they good? I need to find some games that aren’t resource intensive. I moved here 3 years ago and haven’t set up my desktop yet but I’m fairly sure the graphics card died 6 years ago. I installed this on a laptop that wasn’t being used I just shoved a 2.5" SSD in.
Both vampire survivors and Hero Siege are great games that perform on my laptop, a 2014 Fujitsu built for business. Both are pixel graphics. Vampire being a rogue lite and hero siege being top down 2d version of Diablo 2 or 3.
