Third-party data brokers give police warrantless access to 250 million devices.
This is why I have a Huawei. Which is funny because all the iPhone users around me think China is absorbing my soul through my phone. (I don’t actually know that having a Huawei helps)
Isn’t it more the OS than the manufacturer? The OS is able to link your activities together plus Google LOVES selling user data. GrapheneOS/CalyxOS is the move to work around this level of monitoring it would seem.
Tbh tech is an unknown language to me so everything you are saying could be true so now I need to look up different OSs
GrapheneOS is the top tier option but it only runs on Pixel phones because they have the most secure hardware. Other than GrapheneOS, definitely look into CalyxOS and LineageOS. Also, if Verizon is your carrier you’ll need another device as they lock users out of the OEM Unlocker needed to change the OS.
@shreddy_scientist CalyxOS has pretty much the same Pixel limitations as GrapheneOS btw.
Oh dang, thanks for catching that! Looks like the Pixels and Fairphone only for CalyxOS. That hasn’t always been the case, right?
